AniMat’s Crazy Cartoon Cast: The New Normal (2020) is referenced
Anderson. The original Dune prologue tells the story of how Rossak’s sister evolved into the Bene Gesserit. The incident with Valya Harkonnen using voiceover is from one called “Mentats of Dune.” The evolution of the Sisters, Mentats, Navigators, and Suk Doctors intertwine throughout all three books.
No depth, the dialogue is sometimes quite cheesy
I knew it couldn’t be as good as the movies, but I didn’t expect it to be so… mediocre. For a moment I thought it was an Amazon production and not HBO.
No special effects, feels a bit low budget
Some of the roles are poorly cast; not because the actors are bad, but simply not suited to the role. There’s too much going on in the first episode and it jumps from one scene to the next like they’re in a rush. Also, some of the scenes make me wonder why they even bothered to make them.
I really hope it gets better
I don’t know what camera they used, but the shots look too basic.
