Narrative
The Curtis' a family is chosen to test a new home device: a digital assistant called AIA. And he can make sure nothing—and no one—gets in his family’s way. Blumhouse Productions has been a major force in the horror genre since 2007 when Paranormal Activity became a global sensation. See how IMDb users have ranked all Blumhouse Horror movies since 2007. In the trailer, when the family opens the box to reveal AIA for the first time, it says, “Hello, world.” This is a reference to the first program most people write when learning to code or starting a new programming language.

It is one of the most basic programs that a human can write, and is not only a first step for beginners, but also a confirmation that the development environment is set up correctly. In the kitchen, Maud visibly unplugs AIA, but seconds later, when she tells AIA to turn on the lights, AIA is somehow plugged back in and obeys.. Cal: Ten points for Gryffindor!. It may not be the most unique camera style, but it works and adds degrees of artistic presentation that I certainly like

Good camera direction helps give some of the scarier elements of the film, primarily good shadows and the use of angles, which allows for a good jump scare. As far as the acting goes, the film has some decent performances with the script and idea, and they do their best to sell the horror they convey. Carradine had the potential to be something great, and while he has funny lines and a likable nature to try to cut the tension, he just needed more time and development to gain more praise. Waterston is fantastic with the dramatic elements, playing someone with a lot of pain and regret, but not so detached from reality as to know what he has.
His grief is conveyed well and annoying elements that sometimes come into dramatic focus are avoided
Cho is a winner though, the guy brings so much balance to the movie and makes for one of the most interesting characters trying to figure out a solution to his problems. He is fantastic with his delivery and I enjoyed the delivery, although he could have used a bit more range to help. In terms of the story, the film does create some momentum from what I extrapolate from the trailers. . A realistic setting is again appropriate, and even more so a plot that supports being in such a setting and doesn’t depend on convenient demonology.

Afraid is a film that delves deep into the subject of artificial intelligence in a way that entertained me with the potential threats to creation. The relevant topics found in the news are an excellent vehicle for the threats made by AIA, who combine them into an evolving series for each member of the family. Still, the negative aspects are also balanced by some positive components that add some light to the darker elements of the film while providing appropriate humor. As a result, I found the film to offer plenty of insight into the nature of AI, and at the end, it offers some powerful moments about how careful we need to be. And if all of this puts you in a coma, be glad the drive time is less than ninety minutes, so you’ll get out of there without too much trouble.
